Fear of flying

Fear of flying
Not all backpackers are into the flying aspect of cheap travel around the world. For some, the journey to their destination is nothing short of nail-bitingly horrendous, full of turbulence, swinging oxygen masks and air stewardesses telling them not to panic. Sound familiar at all? If so, then you're going to thank me heartily for bringing this to your attention. Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for what could possibly be the most amazing hostel I have ever come across in all my 27 years on God's green earth. Sweden's Jumbo Hostel, made out of an old Boeing 747 (named Liv after the owner's daughter), will certainly keep you safe and sound as you sleep.

The family friendly hostel features several different categories of room which can house between one and three people, all with shiny, new bathroom facilities. But let's face it, that's not where you're going to want to get your snooze on, is it? Guaranteed you and your buddies will all be fighting over the luxury suite in the converted cockpit which has a panoramic view of Stockholm's Arlanda airport. Not only is there bed, there's also board with a resident cafe for guests to get their daily breakfasts. And if you smile sweetly and ask the captain nicely, chances are good that you'll be allowed to walk out and about on the airplane's wings.

So there you have it - the perfect place to stay for anyone who likes a bit of quirk to their daily routine.
