Free entertainment in Michigan
Posted in: Travel

If you're planning to travel around the US on a budget, then the best way to do it is probably to find things to do for free.
Alright, maybe I'm stating the obvious a little here, but if you're going for cheap travel and affordable accommodation in hostels, it makes sense not to be splashing out on expensive activities.
That certainly seems to be the thinking in Michigan, where tourism chiefs are highlighting all the things you can do without spending a dime.
Among them is the Grand Haven Musical Fountain, a summertime tradition that produces a "mesmerising combination of sights and sounds", with the water, music and light show dating back to 1963.
One other activity that caught my eye is a stone skipping tournament, the 40th anniversary of which will be held at Windermere Pointe Beach next month.
So if you're staying in hostels in Michigan this summer, be sure to check out some of the ways to have fun on a budget, as there's plenty on offer.
US Airways recently added new flights from the UK to Philadelphia, which is relatively near to Michigan.
