Get in shape for London's Vertical Rush
Consider signing yourself up to this year's Vertical Rush, which is taking place on February 25th, its second year of operation. If you're somewhat puzzled as to what this is all about, here's the skinny on the hotfoot challenge: In brief, it involves a quick jog up the 920 stairs (42 floors, 600 feet) of London's tallest building, Tower 42. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!
If you think you have the minerals for such a challenge, good on you. You'll also be in excellent company as Dragons' Den star Duncan Bannatyne has plans to take it head on as well and all those who participate will be raising money for Shelter, a charity that helps the homeless.
He had this to say: "I think Shelter's cause is incredibly important, finding a safe and secure home for everyone and I hope this year I will help them smash their fundraising target of £250,000."
So what are you waiting for? These shoes aren't made for walking get to building up your stamina in time for February!
If you're ever in Berlin in January, you can do something similar as well. It's called the Tower Run and Whatsonwhen noted that it involves racing up the 465 steps of the IDEAL-Hochhaus, Germany's tallest residential building.
