If you're up for the challenge, flag down any of the numbers one, two, three or four as they pass you as these cover the majority of the city centre and Stockholm Public Transport (SL) tickets can be used on them, cards that - the SL website noted - are always more cost effective than purchasing a travel pass once on the bus.
The magic of this mode of transportation was brought to my attention by the Guardian newspaper, which stated that - unlike official tours of the city - there are no actual tour guides, but this just means that you're more likely to make a new acquaintance as, if you see something of interest while heading down the road, you can always question the locals on the bus to find out more about it. Who knows, you might even make a friend for life, which is, after all, one of the best things about going to new places.
