I'm not much of a smoker myself but I've been on enough planes in my time to know that if someone who's usually on 20 a day can't spark up when they want to, all hell has the potential to break loose.
So, on behalf of fellow passengers everywhere, I'd like to thank Ryanair for coming up with the ingenious idea of providing Smokeless Cigarettes to help those in need. Apparently, the move was taken after the airline conducted a survey in which it found that more than 24,000 Ryanair customers wanted to be allowed to smoke during flights. And now they can - sort of. These new contraptions look and feel like a real cigarette and when puffed on, deliver a small hit of nicotine to gasping lungs.
Ryanair's Stephen McNamara hit the nail on the head when he said that the Smokeless Cigarettes would "ensure a more enjoyable and stress-free flight for all passengers as non-smokers will no longer have to cope with moody smokers in need of nicotine".
The company's definitely got its customers' best interests at heart - it recently offered cheap flights to Europe for 89p to celebrate the opening of two new bases at Brindisi and Bari in Italy.
