Get your skates on in London
Denver residents - and others in similar places where it gets pretty chilly - are fairly fortunate in one respect. Finding somewhere to go skating is a snap and Colorado citizens generally have their pick of lakes and ponds on which they can zip up and down the ice, relishing the gloriously cold weather. Other countries - like Britain - are less lucky and those living there very often find they have to build their own ice rinks in order get some skating pleasure. Given this fact, the residents of London must be fairly chuffed that a 1,050 metre rink has been set up at the Natural History Museum - a sure sign that Christmas is on the way. So, if you're camped out in a London hostel, make sure you head down to Cromwell Road (the South Kensington tube should get you there quick, smart and in a hurry).

And if you're that extra bit canny, you'll head to the Time Out London website before you go as the portal is offering web users the chance to snaffle up a two-for-one ticket offer, where both adults and children can skate to their hearts' content, for literally nothing at all!

Those who aren't so taken with the idea of yuletide exercise are also catered for by the museum and they can lean over the balcony, supping on mulled wine or hot chocolate, laughing merrily as their loved ones slip and slide all over the place. Added to that is a fairground carousel so there's no shortage of amusement for holidaymakers over the next few months.

If you're in Manchester, not London, a similar thing is being put on from November 12th, this time in Spinningfields. Don't forget to sample some Winter Crumble, which is a seasonal tipple infused with vodka.
