That sounds like a pack of lies, I hear you cry! LA's surely got to be incredibly expensive! Well, let me tell you that Skyscanner has other ideas and has brought me round to their way of thinking fairly quickly.
Apparently, you can get more than your fair share of sun and sand - and not to mention sea - by heading to beaches like Surfrider, Venice and Cabrillo, none of which will cost you a penny. Or you could always take a turn on the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame (I will, of course, be keeping my eyes well peeled for Harrison Ford's star), followed by a trip to the NoHO art district in North Hollywood, where you'll find live theatre, art installations and galleries galore. How's that for a slice of fried gold?
Speaking of frying, you're bound to get peckish while on your LA stay and, although I don't believe you'll be able to eat for nothing, you'll definitely be well fed. I like Le Petit Chateau on Lankershim Boulevard, which is open all week and has been running for years. Give it a go!
