It's just been brought to my attention - in a nice little survey carried out by the John Lewis & Waitrose partnership card - that Rome happens to be one of the more popular destinations for travel so far this year.
In fact, the historical European city has surpassed New York as the most favoured place to visit - who would have possibly thought it? - while Berlin is also doing a good job, having climbed all the way from ninth to fourth place.
Congratulations to Berlin and Rome - I salute you! At least now I know where to go for two of my upcoming holidays, which I have been saving very hard for over the last couple of months.
However, lead researcher for consumer watchdog Which? Martyn Saville had some sage words of advice for me and all those about to whip out the plastic and book themselves a charming Roman vacation.
"If you're heading off on holiday, it's vital to choose a competitively-priced travel insurance policy that offers sufficient cover for your needs Travellers can also save money by choosing the right credit card," he remarked.
Coinciding your trip with a religious event could also provide a unique twist to proceedings. According to the Australian, Mary Mackillop of that fine country - who spent her time spreading the Catholic faith across Oz - is to become the first Aussie to be canonised in October.
