The Berlin Marathon will see 8,000 inline skaters take to the roads, as well as 40,000 runners and a hostel in Berlin could be the ideal base to watch the competitors from.
According to SCC Events - a sporting occasions organiser - the course for the showpiece is known to be the fastest in the world, while the crowds are described as "legendary" and "the atmosphere is hard to top at this most international marathon in Europe".
"The course of the marathon is one big sightseeing loop through one of the most exciting cities in the world," the organisers added.
Some of the best bits of the race could take place at the final part of the course on the Avenue Unter den Linden through the Brandenburg Gate, so for those who are watching it they may find it worth reserving a Berlin hostel near there in order to get a good spot from which to see the action.
The event is in its 37th year and takes place from September 25th to the 26th.
Last year's male winner was African Haile Gebrselassie, who completed his fourth consecutive marathon victory in the city.
But for those who would rather put their feet up and enjoy a few pints, the 14th International Berlin Beer Festival could be much more appealing.
It takes place from August 6th to the 8th and staying in a cheap hostel in Berlin could be a good idea in order to save money for alcohol.
