Ice Bars

Here at Hostels.com HQ we are all wrapped up in our winter woollies as outside the office it is a winter wonderland! As the cold snap embraces parts of Europe and the snow continues to fall in many cities, all thoughts are turning to icy and cold attractions! And one of our favourite icy and cold attractions are Ice Bars!

Over the past few years Ice Bars have popped up in many cities around the world, whether as just a seasonal attraction or open all year around. Ice Bars are a huge tourist attraction in particular as they are a novelty and they are not something you will find in too many places.

If you are paying a visit to Stockholm then make sure you visit the world’s first permanent Ice Bar. The Absolut Ice Bar in Stockholm holds a temperature of -5 degrees celsius all year round and everything in the bar from the counter to the glasses is made from 100% pure clear ice. You will also find Ice Bars in places you wouldn’t expect to such as Nha Trang in Vietnam and the Chillout bar and restaurant in Dubai. Ice Bars are also taking off in the United States with the ‘coolest bar in the USA’ the Ice Bar in Orlando.

Have you encountered any Ice Bars on your travels? Where were they and what did you like about them? Leave your suggestions in a comment below.
