Iceland hot spot for tourists

Iceland hot spot for tourists
I am someone who likes to consider themselves fairly well-travelled, particularly around the major destinations of Europe.

However, I must admit that I have never been to Iceland - nor have I ever really given it that much thought.

These days most people are likely to associate the country with economic troubles, but apparently it could be a hot spot (excuse the pun!) for those of us who enjoy backpacker travel.

ABTA - The Travel Association - in the UK has explained that the financial worries mean tourists benefit from a good exchange rate, which could be good news in terms of cheap travel and stays in hostels.

In fact, an Icelandic company - Eye for Image - has conducted some research suggesting that its problems have actually improved its image as a tourist destination

And with plenty of hostels available in Reykjavik and other major cities maybe it's time to check out what Iceland has to offer!
