Kelis live may be reason to book cheap Los Angeles hostels
With elements of soul, hip-hop, funk and R&B all incorporated into her unique style of vocals, music fans should be sure to book up a cheap hostel in Los Angeles and head along to the concert.
Born August Rogers, the star took on the title of Kelis and made an instant impact across various European countries when she debuted with the well-received single Caught Out There in 1999, which was compared as a "modern equivalent of Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive", according to Biggest Stars, shaping the start of a strong career.
More than a decade later, the artist has released her fifth studio album in May, which is titled Flesh Tone. This release has seen Kelis undergo a change of style to her sound, with a more electro theme and additions from such well-known dance acts such as Benny Benassi and David Guetta.
Fans lucky enough to get tickets for this gig after finding a room in cheap Los Angeles hostels will hear many of the tracks played live from this album, including the popular beats of Acapella, as well as a few classics from her back catalogue – where Milkshake is arguably her most well-known hit to date, having surpassed 55,000 Last.fm plays in the past half a year.
Her recent live performances have also been well-regarded by a host of critics, including a review on The Fly, which noted: "Its full-on electro/dance stomp gets the room raving instantly, and allows her 'live band' – three DJs and a drummer – to smoothly blend one track into the other."
