Now, I'm not an expert - I only saw much-missed Patrick Swayze at Grauman's Chinese Theatre once during my stay in the City of Angels - but I did give Jess some tips on where to see famous sights from classic movies.
For instance, the picturesque steps leading to Rodeo Drive are seen in 1995 teen comedy Clueless, while the hotel where Julia Roberts gets her first taste of luxury in Pretty Woman is the nearby Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills.
Santa Monica Pier, with its iconic Ferris wheel, has also featured in a lot of celluloid scenes over the years. Remember Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock's 90s hit The Net? It was filmed partly on the pier, as were some sections of Chevy Chase classic Fletch.
Even better is Pat and Lorraine's, which is a breakfast diner on Eagle Rock Boulevard where the cast of Reservoir Dogs shot the opening snippet of the Quentin Tarantino flick.
If you're taking a stroll in Bel-Air (which I admit is highly unlikely, nobody in LA walks anywhere, so I'd rent an awesome car and cruise around), you can roll past the legendary Playboy Mansion, located at 10236 Charing Cross Road. You won't be able to see that much due to its high walls and even higher security, but the Gothic Tudor structure is partly visible and it's exciting to see if any celebrities are wandering about!
