Other areas have been less fortunate than London, with Spain not doing very well in the poll thanks to a decline in the number of tourists from the UK, Germany and France, Breaking Travel News tells me. This was exacerbated by increased competition from countries such as Turkey, Egypt and Morocco so, all in all, Spain's had a bit of a rubbish time recently. Why not give the poor region a break and head to a hostel in Madrid? I'm definitely putting it up there on my travel agenda anyway.
But for those in London hostels at the moment, tightening of belts on raincoats for the next few days might be a good idea as, following the heavy rain and galeforce winds that hit the country at the weekend, even more is predicted to come and flooding could also prove to be something of an issue. If you haven't brought wellies on holiday with you, now might be a sound time to invest in some.
