London might have a white Christmas
According to the Guardian, the Met Office has issued a warning to residents of Britain that terrible conditions could be on the way, with heavy snow making appearances across the country, in places like Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales at the weekend.
And snow showers were seen in London today and the chances of a white Christmas are certainly looking good. This morning recorded temperatures of as low as -7, so if you weren't wearing your gloves, hat and scarf when you left the house, you probably felt a bit silly when your hands turned blue as you waited for the bus.
People may also like to bundle up well tonight as it's going to be another cold one - although perhaps not as freezing as yesterday evening.
MeteoGroup forecaster Paul Mott was quoted by the news source as saying: "It's looking bitterly cold for at least a week", although he did quash the excitement of souls such as myself by adding that it was too early to make any predictions about white Christmas possibilities.
At least this means that the Bears in Squares exhibit currently on view at Trafalgar Square may not melt so quickly. If you hurry to the famous London meeting place, you'll see a giant bronze bear skeleton encased in ice. Brrrr!
