London welcomes a big pink bubble
I'm just sorry that I live so far away and have no immediate plans to head to England any time soon. I've seen a picture of the temporary gallery and it certainly looks amazing - imagine, if you will, a see-through marshmallow, or a giant pink spaceship. Put on by Portavilion and designed by a team of artists and architects working in Berlin, the bubble will see workshops, performances, dance jams, music and debates take place within its transparent walls.
If you're up for checking it out, head to one of the city's green spaces any time between May and September - you're likely to find the touring exhibition hall in Regent's, Burgess or Battersea Parks.
"This translucent bubble can squeeze under bridges, wrap around trees or nestle into corners, providing a nomadic, inside/outside space in which people can perform debate, eat or simply hang out," Portavilion said.
Events include the launch party - with Sadler's Wells and Siobhan Davies Dance hosting the Big Dance Bubble - the Friday Late at Tate on the north lawn of the Tate Modern, Croydon's Big Dance Bubble Festival and a film screening at Gillet Square, although there are many, many others you will be able to enjoy.
