More than tulips on show in Amsterdam
Posted in: Travel

Amsterdam may be most famous for wild weekends in the red-light district, but those planning a trip to hostels in the Dutch city can find that it also has a lot more to offer.
Indeed, the Times of South Africa has noted that this month sees Amsterdam's Open Garden Days take place.
Apparently, a whole host of impressive gardens are hidden away behind stately homes along the Herengracht Canal and once a year their owners open them up for anyone to see.
So if you're staying in hostels in Amsterdam around June 19th you can pay a small fee to check them out, with over 30 being featured.
It certainly could be something a little different to enjoy and you'll see more than just a few tulips on show!
But for those who fancy a little more excitement - the Holland Festival is underway in Amsterdam, with opera, dance music and theatre all part of the fun.
