New year in New York a favourite
According to Travelex, which has counted down some of the best places to go for new year parties, New York is a good choice, not just for revellers but also for people who like to shop, Travel Daily reports.
Apparently, the pound is still strong against the dollar as well, so any Brits who are planning on heading to the US for a bit of fun are in luck. The news source noted that for every £500, UK residents will be able to gain nearly $80 (£50.11) more than in 2008. Happy days for all the British, then!
Director of Travelex Julian Neal said: "We urge travellers to consider destinations where they will get great value for their money, as heading off over the new year peak period can prove costly."
And the city also ranked first in Skyscanner's recent poll of the best places to go for New Year's Eve, so there's a lot of love for New York right now. In the same survey, the other top spots went to Tenerife, Paris and Amsterdam so if you're heading to any of those, it's likely that you'll have a good time too.
