Plenty to do on rainy days outside an Amsterdam hostel
People who have booked a cheap hostel in Amsterdam do not have to sit inside feeling sorry for themselves the whole weekend as Gagan Sharma, writing a blog for Easy Destination, has recommended that individuals attend Circus Elleboog.
And doing so will also help the community as it is a non-profit organisation which enables children from around the city to train like real circus professionals.
He added: "The core value of this association is to help the youth with developing into educated, social-capable young people."
These new skills include balancing and jumping on a ball, walking on ropes and learning how to master one-wheeled cycles.
But those who want to explore more than their Amsterdam hostel and are interested in a bit of quiet time might like to check out the Amsterdam library which is a "huge leap into the future", according to Mr Sharma.
He noted that even individuals who are not great book enthusiasts will be "amazed by the facilities and benefits the library offers".
There is a free internet connection for everyone, a "delicious" restaurant on the top of the building which overviews the entire city, as well as plenty of international magazines and newspapers to enjoy.
This ties in with comments from Machteld Ligtvoet, communications manager for the Amsterdam Tourism and Convention Board, who recently pointed out that Amsterdam has a very relaxed nature.
