People who love to laugh might be interested in booking a cheap hostel in New York for the underground comedy festival in the city.
There will be comedians galore and the organisers hope to have the best emerging talent possible ready to make people cry with laughter.
The show began in October 2003 with a few performances at selected venues before it turned into a full-scale worldwide event. Top stars such as Chris Rock have taken to the stage at previous events.
"We've even held free shows in libraries, schools, hospitals and homeless shelters so that people who can't afford to go to traditional shows can still get the gift of laughter. With the kind help of countless performers and behind the scenes people, we are able to further community through comedy," the organisers noted.
The event kicks off on August 15th and ends on the 22nd, so there is plenty of time to reserve a room in a New York hostel.
Comics looking to try their hand at the festival and hopefully get spotted as a rising star can enter into one of two categories - the professional comic's category or the emerging comic's contest.
But the organisers recommend that individuals only apply for the former if they are used to doing long sets and have been working regularly in the industry.
They added: "Continuing last year's tradition, if enough great comics submit, we will open up other contests that will be judged by the industry."
