That said, if I don't have the pennies for the bus - which is quite often, being the hard-up traveller that I am - then I'll just strap on a pair of my trusty boots and stomp around the streets of the township, going whichever way the wind decides to take me.
However, if you're not that adventurous and don't want to get lost but are still up for checking out Paris by foot, then signing up to a walking tour could very well be the perfect activity to include on your travel agenda. According to Carol Pucci of the Province, there are lots to choose from - so many that you will be spoiled for choice and will, no doubt, spend forever and a day deciding which one to go on.
She mentioned the Classic Walk put on by Class Walks, which could be ideal for anyone who's not been to Paris before as it takes people around some very important locations, such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame.
But if you want to get yourself somewhat off the beaten track - as I am wont to do, I'll admit - then Paris Walks could be the one for you, as it provides two hour-long daily trips around specific neighbourhoods like the Marais and the Latin Quarter, so you're likely to see something that you've never encountered on previous vacations in the capital. Yay!
