On September 3rd and 4th the Pyronale World Championships of Fireworks is taking place, which could be an ideal occasion to book a cheap hostel in Berlin.
And if this year's event is anything like the 2009 spectacle, then visitors could be in for a treat.
Pyro-technicians from all over the world, from countries such as Singapore, Turkey, South Africa and Austria, were on show aiming to win the the golden Pyronale trophy.
Those who want to stay near to the event, which could allow them to watch some of the fireworks from their Berlin hostel, may like to book their accommodation near the Olympic Stadium.
Moreover, last year's winner was Feuerwerke Jost from Austria, who beat off competition from Surex, of Poland, who won the silver medal.
But both evenings ended with some "spectacular" fireworks, according to the festival's website.
The Scorpions music played over the top of the bangers and the Citroen logo was written out in fire.
However, the competition for this year's event could be equally as tough with participants including Swiss company Bugano - who won Pyro-Night, which took place 29th August 2009 in Erfurt - qualifying for the extravaganza.
Other forthcoming spectacles in the German capital that might be worth booking a hostel in Berlin for include the Berlin Festival on September 10th until the 11th at Tempelhof Airport, featuring bands such as the Editors and Hot Chip.
