Those of you who have always fancied checking out the statue of David by Michelangelo and the Annunciation by Leonardo da Vinci should hop on a flight over to Italy as soon as you can, because you'll miss out on some truly magnificent sights in the world if you never get round to it.
And I'm not the only one who thinks this as Roberta Romoli, spokesperson for the Florence Tourist Board, noted that Florence has an "exceptional and incomparable artistic heritage", which will surely get your artistic taste buds rushing.
She added: "They say that Italy houses 40 per cent of worldwide artistic patrimony, consequently Florence on its own conserves a great part of Italian art attractions."
The Historic Centre of Florence is certainly something that shouldn't be missed in the city. The area is "by a circle of avenues traced over the old medieval city walls" and it made it onto the World Heritage List in 1982.
But if I was recommending one particular place in the city then I would probably plump for The Accademia Gallery, which includes superb works of art such as Michelangelo's David and Prisoners and Botticelli's Madonna and Child and Madonna of the Sea.
Ms Romoli concluded: "Ultimately, we can say that Florence is one of the cities that everyone should see once in their life with many reasons for coming back"
