Take time to smell the roses in Dublin
The Rose Festival - which is being held in St Anne's Park & Rose Garden between July 17th and 18th, so says What's on When - promises to be a great ol' time and, what's even better, if you're not hugely interested in flowers there's a whole raft of activities that will keep you entertained while your companions dash about gushing over the many varieties of petal.
Last year's event was the tenth time it took place and one of the best things about it is that it's free, so if you're a bit hard up for cash this could definitely be an enjoyable pursuit for you. If 2009's shindig is anything to go by, attendees will be able to have a go on an outdoor climbing wall and play giant garden games, all the while getting their faces painted and enjoying both puppet and magic shows.
However, I appreciate that not everyone will find this entertaining, so those who are more consumer-driven might like to check out Style in the City which features catwalk shows and exhibitions of lots of designer clothes, ranging from Brown Thomas, Mulberry and Chloe to Alexander McQueen and Donna Karan.
