Imagine how free (and cosmopolitan) you'd feel, zipping about the winding streets on a two-wheeled scooter as though you were a native to the city. According to the Sunday Times, opting for one of these as a way to get around Rome is "part thrill ride, part heritage experience", which to my mind sounds really rather exciting.
Unless you've got pots of money and are keen to either ship your own Vespa over from your home country or are quite interested in making such a purchase while in the region, you can rent them out for a couple of hours at quite a reasonable price - £97 per person - and for that amount you get a personal tour guide as well.
I know, I know - having to sit on the back as a passenger does kind of suck the fun out of the whole experience just a little but think how much there is to see and do in Rome. You'd never get to any of it if you were left to your own devices, particularly because you'd probably be so wrapped up in just how cool you looked sliding round corners on your moped.
