As the Daily Mail would have it, weather experts are also touting this recommendation, telling people to stay inside on Saturday as winds of up to 70mph may soon be whistling through the trees and bringing down branches onto the heads of hapless passers-by. It's already starting to manifest itself in preparation for the weekend - just what people in work must really want to hear - with the county of Kent having been hit with flooding this morning (Friday). Firefighters have even been called out eight times to handle very wet properties and gardens.
The British Met Office has made its predictions for the next few days - although given its forecasts for the summer just gone, promising a scorching couple of months, many may choose to ignore its warnings - saying that "severe weather" is expected.
That's Bob Wilderspin talking, the organisation's chief forecaster, who also said keeping an eye on weather updates might be a good idea. Obviously.
If you do decide to brave the outdoors while in London, make a pit stop off at Windies Cove, a Caribbean restaurant in Greenwich. It might be tipping it down outside but at least you can get a flavour of sun and surf while you eat!
