If, however, you do find yourself stuck for something to occupy yourself with, a perusal of some of these suggestions - kindly offered up by Time Out - should provide you with an idea or two.
First up - and most obvious - is climbing the Eiffel Tower, which the publication observes would be "unthinkable" to miss out of your travel agenda. Failing that, an ice cream at Notre Dame - which contains natural ingredients and an over-abundance of cream and is growing in reputation as a result - should also be included on the itinerary.
Artistic souls must catch a glimpse of the masterpieces in the Louvre - although those at Time Out do warn those intending to do so that the crowds can be a handful. Don't forget to check out the Mona Lisa, naturally.
And for those seeking history, Les Catacombes - which bears the inscription 'Stop! This is the empire of death!' above its entrance - could be an interesting move. Instead of finding graves for the six million killed during the Revolution, the government's response was to dig deep underground and deposit their bodies in the Roman passages they found.
If you're hungry after all that sightseeing, Time Out recommends the Chez Jeanette cafe, which is fast becoming one of the city's favourite places for food.
