After the huge success of their 'best job in the world' competition last year, the Australian tourist board are at it again in an attempt to promote Australia as the ultimate destination for a working holiday. They are offering even more ‘dream jobs’ targeted at the 18-30 year old age bracket. The aim of these ‘best jobs in the world’ are to try and lure those who are sick of being stuck to their desk in the mundane nine to five to the wonderful outdoors of South Australia. Getting the ‘work/ life balance’ right is what this promotion is all about while aiming to showcase Australia as the perfect place for both work and travel.
So what exactly is the work on offer I hear you ask as you quickly pack up your desk and type up a good-bye email to your boss! Well, it’s not quiet on the same scale of last year’s caretaker of Hamilton Island role that over 34,000 people applied for. There is no experience required for these roles but for the beer tasting job we reckon most applicants will have a little bit of a background in the role! Other ‘dream jobs’ on offer include tagging sharks, catching koalas and a Fairy Penguin home remodeler.
Would these be enough to make you pack in the daily grind and move around the world for a job that seems a bit out of the ordinary? And if none of the above ‘dream jobs’ are actually a dream then tell us what would be the ultimate job for you and where it would be in the world?
