However, he has a point. I get a real mental and physical boost from working out, and although it's tempting to let standards slide when you're off gallivanting across the globe, there are numerous ways to stay healthy even when you don't have a fixed daily routine.
I did a bit of research and found that the Scoop at More London - which is a fantastic sunken amphitheatre under the capital's skies - is putting on some free classes this summer for fitness bunnies who want to wake up with a bang.
From May 5th to August 25th there will be a session every Wednesday morning, starting at 07:30 BST and lasting one hour. Pilates, yoga and an intriguingly-titled Boot Camp/Body Blast will be available.
Each of them are aimed at people of all abilities and all you've got to do is turn up ten minutes early to register. Come on, it's free!
You'd be surprised how much a workout gets you pumped for the day, actually giving you more energy for a long day's sightseeing. Just remember to stay hydrated and have fun - you might even meet some great people there too! Speaking of which, I should go and pick my girlfriend up from Bikram yoga now
