Would you get a manwax
Hmmm, what a question. I'm fairly sure that, even if I had the hair to skin ratio of a woolly mammoth, I would probably still prefer to look like a little fuzz-ball on the beach when I stripped down to my Bermuda shorts. That's right men, hold on to your pecs. A growing trend for boy backpackers heading to the seaside is to get a man-wax - or 'max' as some people have already started calling it - an all-over body hair removal extravaganza. I have to say that it doesn't sound all that appealing, although I'm sure that had I the inclination to go through with it I'd very much enjoy looking all shiny in the sun.

Now, really, I don't mind a bit of metrosexuality. I think it's healthy for guys to be in touch with their more feminine sides but I think a line really should be drawn somewhere. I remember the glory days when men were men and shaving used to be too much of a hassle. Suddenly it's all about guyliner and man-scara and now this - the man-wax. Backpackers of the world unite, I say - keep that hair on and save your money for a hostel in Europe or wherever it is you're planning on going.

Apparently, this new phenomenon is - surprise, surprise - celebrity-driven. According to John Walker of Kiniki, a swimwear manufacturer, even Jay Rayner - a fairly hairy-looking journalist and critic - has gone and got it done so, should you choose to go through with a max, you will at least be in quite good company.ADNFCR-2435-ID-19318257-ADNFCR
