Often referred to as ‘The Lungs of New York’, Central Park is a beautiful park in Manhattan. On a nice day in New York Central Park is the place to go whether you want to stroll around, soak up some sun in Sheep Meadow or get in some rowing practise with the boat rental on the lake. There’s so much to see and do in this huge park area and to top it all off it’s one of the best free things to do in New York City! So get out of your New York hostel and spend a few hours in New York’s Central Park.
The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the most amazing bridges around! This is a top New York attraction and it is both amazing to look at and walk across. Tourists from all over take a walk or cycle over the Brooklyn Bridge every day. It takes about 25 minutes to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge each way and is a great way to get some stunning view of the Manhattan skyline. This walk is also one of many great free things to do in New York and is on everyone’s list when it comes to New York sightseeing. Staten Island Ferry
This free ferry ride is a great way of taking in the amazing Manhattan skyline as well as getting some great views of The Statue of Liberty, one of many great New York tourist attractions. The Staten Island Ferry has been running as one of New York’s top transport methods for years and it has also become one of the top tourist attractions in the city too. The ferry journey takes about 25 minutes each way and there is seating both indoors and out. So if you are sightseeing in New York then make sure you add this to your list of things to do for free in New York.
Take a trip to New York’s Times Square and you will spend most of your time staring at all the billboards and lights, as well as people watching the thousands of locals and visitors that pass through this Manhattan junction every day! Times Square is one of the biggest New York sights and it is also the Theatre District of New York and you will find lot of renowned theatres showing hit Broadway shows! Times Square or the ‘Crossroads of the World’ is also where you will find thousands of people gathered together for New Years Eve in New York City. Grand Central Terminal
Grand Central Terminal may be just a train station on first look but there really is so much to see and do in the Terminal and neighbourhood. Grand Central Terminal has become one of the top New York attractions as there is lots to see and do in the Terminal. From its great food court full of choice to its many stores, Grand Central Terminal is well worth a visit when you are sightseeing in New York. There are lots of points of interest throughout Grand Central Terminal also such as the amazing Sky Ceiling, the clock on the main concourse and the Whispering Gallery to name but a few.
