Six Nations Rugby 2011

Rugby fans are gearing up for February to start as it sees the beginning of the 2011 RBS Six Nations. The Six Nations sees rugby fans from Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, France and Italy travel to and from each other’s stadiums to watch their teams in action. Friday February 4th will see all the exciting action kick off in as Wales take on England in the first game of the RBS Six Nations 2011. Rugby fans are dedicated to following their teams, especially when it comes to the Six Nations so that’s why we’ve put together this list of need to know facts for each city for the Six Nations along with cheap places to stay in each city!
Six Nations Ireland
If you are coming to see Ireland play at home then make sure you know how to get to the new Aviva Stadium in Dublin as that’s where they will be in action. The Aviva Stadium will play host to two Ireland home games – Ireland v France on Feb 13th and Ireland v England on March 19th. Dublin always boasts a great atmosphere for rugby matches both in and outside of the stadium so it’s worth visiting the city to support either team. You could also make a weekend out of it and get in some Dublin sightseeing by booking one of these cheap hostels in Dublin to stay in!
Six Nations Scotland
Scotland will play the third match of the RBS Six Nations 2011 on February 5th against France. Both sides will have a strong following throughout the Six Nations so get working on getting your tickets now. Scotland will also entertain Wales at home on Feb 12th in what‘s bound to be a sell-out as these two sporting rivals go head to head so book a bed in a cheap hostel in Edinburgh quickly. And if this is your first time at Murrayfield, or even to Edinburgh, we recommend that you make a weekend out of it and stay in the Scottish capital for a few days. Edinburgh is an amazing city with lots to see and do all over, where the atmosphere on a Six Nations match weekend is second to none! Six Nations England
Twickenham is the home of English rugby and will host 3 matches for the RBS Six Nations 2011. The first of these will take place when England take on Italy on Feb 12th on home ground. Our advice, book your cheap London hostel now. Twickenham Stadium is located on the aptly titled Rugby Road outside of London. The stadium is easy enough to get to with many forms of transport available – the tube or train to nearby stations are probably the handiest port of call for supporters staying around London city. There is plenty to do and see, so make the most of your time and do some London sightseeing while there. Six Nations Wales
Wales will be up against England in the opening match of the RBS Six Nations 2011, and it will be played on home ground in the Millennium Stadium. This Cardiff stadium is the home to Welsh rugby and football, and also hosts a lot of other events and concerts. The Millennium Stadium was originally built to host the Rugby World Cup in 1999 but it has seen many heart stopping matches since then. The stadium boasts a retractable roof which makes it a pleasant atmosphere in all weather for the RBS Six Nations. Three Six Nations games will take place in Cardiff and this Welsh city is an amazing place to be on match days in particular. Hoards of fans will descend on to Millennium Stadium for all three rugby games so get booking your cheap hostels in Cardiff now as Wales Six Nations accommodation will be in high demand!
Six Nations France
The French rugby team will be lining out on the grass of Stade de France on the second week of the RBS Six Nations as they face Grand Slam holders Ireland on February 13th. There will be three rugby games taking place in Stade de France for the 2010 RBS Six Nations and depending on how all the matches go, all eyes could be on this Parisian stadium on March 20th as it hosts the final rugby game of the 2010 Six Nations where France will meet England. Book accommodation near the Stade de France. Six Nations Italy
Italian rugby fans are sure to be out in force for their first rugby match as it’s a home game against Ireland in Stade Flaminio for the 2011 RBS Six Nations. Stade Flaminio is the home stadium for the Italian rugby team and will play host to three Italian home games for the 2011 Six Nations. The first one against Ireland is on February 5th. The Stade Flaminio can be found not too far from the city centre of Rome with lots of Rome transport options to and from the stadium available. If you are planning on going to a match here for the Six Nations then we reckon you should make a long weekend out of it as there is so much Rome sightseeing to do in this beautiful Italian city.
