The room was a bit dirty, but we got a room with private bathroom, thou we have paid for room with shared bathroom. So that was really nice. Remember that you can ONLY pay in cash. The man who showed us the room, was very nice to tell us what to see, and where we could eat in the neighborhood, and also what places we should avoid. My friend and I stayed at this hostel for 2 nights. We felt very safe and comfortable. It is a bit outside of the central part of Amsterdam, but transportation is pretty easy to come by. We ended up walking to safe money, and to explore the city. So it was fine. The hostel was very private and not very exciting, it was basically just me and my friend hanging out in our room or around town. There are many restaurants and shops around the hostel. The main outdoor market was less than 2 John, from USA ~ 28th May 2009

This was the most nasty and expensive hostel ever. they let gays in, nothing against them but there were shit stains everywhere smelt like urine. there was no reception desk didnt take any kind of cards. would never stay here or recommend it to anyone else. the man running the biulding was creepy and never saw anyone for days. my friend and i thought we were the only ones staying there. no hot water only cold. fucking scary. Very nice staff. Rooms are comfortable (except the stairs). The location is a little bit uncomfortable (about 15 min. from the station), but there is a regular tram, until about 12.30 a.m. However place is wonderful, near oosterpark and plantage. Don't come with a car if you're staying here. You'll have to park about 3 kilometers away to find a parking spot. The registration guy's accent is very dutch and quite amusing. THOMAS, from USA ~ 7th Mar 2009
