Alpha Hostel - Salvador in Salvador, Brazil

i enjoyed the hostel.. i little bit tricky to find, but it is well located. i just don't like the actual street it is located... very dodgy... gotta be carefull when arriving with backpacks... not a very good area... but it is indeed well located to access Barra beach and bars nearby. liked the BRL$ 60 deal for a twin bedroom with private bathroom, very good compared to other hostels... The only words I have to say about Alpha Hostel are good ones. Adams and Edgar were so friendly and helpful, security was great meaning one less thing to worry about and the location was perfect for Carnaval. Definately recommend and would re visit. Although I would recommend getting and organising your own shirts for bloccos and camarotes during Carnaval to save some money, the mark up is a bit unfair. The staff was amazing! They were so nice and helpful and fun! They knew exactly who we were when we first arrived and remembered the names of everyone staying at the hostel. The people who were staying there were incredibly friendly also. The location isn't right on the beach or the parade route, but it was only a couple of blocks away, which was nice because it was quiet when you wanted to sleep, but close enough to walk down to the blocos/camarotes.
