Base Brisbane - Central in Brisbane, Australia

Pretty good if you want to have a good time, can be noisy if you're a light sleeper depending what floor your room is on. 2nd floor people hang out on the balcony, 1st floor might be close to the bar music downstairs, but it is a big place. Joshua, from USA ~ 3rd Nov 2009

The single person rooms are subjected to quite a lot of noise with them being on the roof. We were there on a Friday and Sat evening and all we would hear most the of the night was loud music from the pub downstairs and fights in the street. We got very little sleep. Perhaps some more noise insulation for those rooms. It was my first time at a hostel and for the price I couldn't really complain about anything else.

good hostel in the best location :) right infront of central station so it takes only 2min from airtrain. clean and good atmosphere but bit noisy coz of a bar under there. jinhee, from South Korea ~ 14th Sep 2009

Great location but dirty.

Hi Felix, Thank you for the email & offering your feedback. Staff & Cleanliness were an issue which is really disappointing. As with all areas of the property, your rooftop room & common area should be cleaned daily with the bathrooms cleaned at 7am & again at 2pm. We will follow-up with the houskeeper on that floor. Felix, thank you again for the feedback. This is certainly not the standard we aim for & will lift our game. My only problem with the hostel was the noise, it was just awful. I could hear thumping music past 4am. Not everyone in a hsotel wants to party. Someone should tell the British backpackers that.

We had another complaint about the noise during your stay & have addressed the issue with the bar as well as reminding all guests on check-in to keep noise levels down on the floors. I was in a single. It was clean, quiet, and a nice place to just hang out when I got back from overseas. Would definitely recommend this place to any backpacker or young traveler. There is always something going on!
