Budget Backpackers in Edinburgh, Scotland

This hostel was awesome! The staff was great. They have free walking tours & free pub crawls!!! The staff was very helpful, especially Jo & Darren! Would definately stay there again. The only thing is that there's no outlets (only shavers) & not a lot of light in the bathrooms & no mirrors in the rooms, so be prepared to not use your hairdryer etc. But I'd still book again. The hostel was very basic in style but was in a top spot location. The rooms were basic- just for nights- nothing cosy. It was very cold. Windows open all the times- no heating- not enough chairs- missing items in the kitchen- loud. People were very young- age/group: around 20 or less. O.k. value for a few days/nights. A perfect little backpackers. Positives are all the scales on excellent and cheaper internet on site than most. negatives: bit more expensive than other places with a slightly less dangerous pub scene right out side the door. 4/5 :) Jack, from New Zealand ~ 20th Sep 2009
