adorable hostel with an amazing view of the Edinburgh Castle across the street and just a short walk away from many of the great places in Edinburgh.be sure to join the hostel's Pub Crawl as well as Free Walking Tour- both were awesome! staff is friendly and there are lockers with locks! also towel rental is really cheap- less than 1 euro. you won't regret staying here! Really cool hostel. AMAZING location, clean and spacious rooms, decent facilities (not really enough room in the shower stalls to hang clothes and such), pleasant staff and a great overall vibe. Would return in a heartbeat. Rebecca, from USA ~ 29th Mar 2012

Noisy...the walls are paper thin and the hostel houses over a hundred people, perhaps half of whom live there. It makes for a weird atmosphere. Not very inviting. Hostel by no means hosts a backpacker crowd. It is mostly unemployed, 20 year-olds, living in a hostel and creating a hippy commune environment in which tourism does not seem to be the priority for anyone...ironic for a hostel.I would not recommend this place for a tourist in Edinburgh. The beds aren't really that comfortable and paying for internet and breakfast is outrageous, but I would still recommend because of the location. Ian, from USA ~ 3rd Dec 2011

The hostel was ok. The location is definately great, we could go walking everywhere from the hostel. The bed was comfortable and the room was really nice. But the kitchen was EXTREMELY disgusting, I could barely go in there to get my food from the fridge, it smeeled just awful... some of our stuff disappeared from the room as well, witch was quite annoying, luckyly we got them back but I had to ask for a new towel twice, since the staff always took the one I was using... The staff was very rude and swore at us. There are no electrical outlet, the only way to charge your mobile or computer is out in the hallway where there is people passing by all the time and it can easily be stolen. The beds were wellused and thin so you felt the board under it and the element was making sounds all night. The only god thing was the location, it´s in the middle of all museums and sightseeing so you could easily se all the seightseeing without having to rush. kimberly, from Sweden ~ 24th Nov 2011

Fantastic place to stay. Only negative was the renovations that were happening at the time. Walls are a little thin but overall best value and best vibe!! Great free WiFi, except when everyone else is on... £1.80 breakfast, awesome! Margaret, from Australia ~ 30th Oct 2011

Firstly, the location of this place is excellent. The staff is very curtious too. Though the building is a little old the bathrooms and rooms were clean and big. The hostel is bustling with activity and fun at all times. Though Internet was not quite good as it should have been I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
