The hostel is to far away from the center of Melbourne. There are many better places to stay near the center.

Don't like the paranoid, regulatory approach of the hostel (signs threatening you with being filmed and large boards of fines for different things). It doesn't make me feel safer, it just makes me feel not at home. This takes out the fun.

Hi, sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your time at Habitat. In regards to the signs being up, they are there as encouragement to our guests to tidy up after themselves and not meant to be offensive. I'm not sure what fines you are talking about as there are no boards stating anything about monetary fines, only our house rules which are standard.
