I stayed here for only one night on a quiet, rainy Monday. But I definitely see how and why this place could be poppin'. Two bars, a restaurant and a pool. I just wish I was there on a sunny weekend with lots of people. Good place to meet some other cool travelers too. Alex, from USA ~ 6th Jan 2012

The perfect spot to meet other travellers, fun bar, cool pool, relaxing lounge area and decent sized private rooms. There's a little shop to buy food close by which is great for a budget backpacker, but not much else. The hostel bar and bar next door each offer happy hour! stefanie, from USA ~ 3rd Oct 2011

it's very clean and secure, the rooms are simple but ok, the staff is friendly and very helpful with tourbookings and informations about costa rica. it's about 10 min walk to downtown wich is no problem at all. Claudia, from Austria ~ 1st Jul 2011

Stayed in this hostel my first and last night in San Jose. The staff was very helpful in directing me to sights and stores nearby. They have a secured and gated parking lot that I was able to park the rental car in which was nice.I met some amazing people here and we had an amazing night cooking and drinking in at the bar.I would highly recommend this place. The only downside is that the traffic in the nighborhood starts early and you can certainly hear it in the permiter rooms. Decent hostel, disappointed that breakfast wasn't free.A little hard to find if you have a rental car like we did but they do have a gated parking lot which was nice. We arrived late one night and a large group of people were watching a movie on the flat screen TV in the social area so that was kind of fun.Overall it's probably as good as you'll get for San Jose but if you've ever been to Costa Rica before you know that San Jose should be avoided anyway. A nice hostel to stay for some days. Nice staff and with the pool a nice atmosphere. But you should take the bus from the aiport inside the town and then a taxi for the last distance. But the hostel is a nice place to stay Marc, from Germany ~ 21st Mar 2011

I had such expectations for his hostel after reading the glowing account it gives itself on this site, however I was so disappointed with it. Starting with the airport pick up shuttle which cost me a whopping $20 and the rude driver, he got very aggressive with me when I questioned the high price. The dorms are old and grotty and the reception staff rude. I wouldn't recommend it atal.I have been travelling for 6 months and this is one of the worst hostels I have stayed in. way too much noise from the street traffic and a train that passes often in the early morning hours.Rooms are real small and walls paper thin (I do realize this is a hostel)...........Has a fun atmosphere and the staff are helpful and pleasant.... near enough to the parts of downtown san jose you'd want to see........ david, from USA ~ 24th Feb 2011

my friend and I actually stayed at this place twice! at beginning and end of our trip. You may want to avoid rooms in the front if you want to sleep.Still, staff was helpful and there are always many packers to talk to. Jaime, from USA ~ 21st Feb 2011
