The hostel was ok. The location was reasonably close to the Hualien train station. The directions supplied by the Hostel make it very easy to get to. The dorm room was mixed (girls and guys) which I'm not a big fan of. I know a lot of people don't mind that. The bathroom was kind of gross. Reid, from USA ~ 16th Sep 2009

What a great hostel! Having stayed in tons of hostels all around the world, this one ranks among the best and certainly among the friendliest. The place is a bit of a walk from the train station, if you don't use the pick-up service. It is nicely decorated and there are some cute dogs! There's also a wide range of English books in the English library, so if you ever are at a loss of what to do...The computer was broken when I was there, so if you didn't bring a laptop you'd be a bit out of luck.
