We booked this prior to arrival and paid a deposit. When we arrived there was no record of our booking. V disappointing. Still no refund of booking deposit. They treated us as a regular walk in and we were charged full value again.

I tried to make a reservation at the Fragrance Hostel through the on-line reservation form on the "Frangrance Hotel" website. After a week, I emailed to query whether or not my reservation was confirmed. I received no response so I phoned the reservation desk (from Canada) and a confused employee had difficulty understanding English but eventually understood my question. She spent a great deal of time trying to track down the correspondence (booking form and email) without success and then direc

The rooms are small but clean and you have your own locker. you also get a room key card so only the people staying your room can get in. the bathrooms are clean and scrubbed daily. there is nowhere to keep food but there is a cooktop, but since food is so cheap you will want to eat out everyday anyway and there is an urn for hot water if you want tea or coffee. the only problem is the doors shut by themselves and have a tendency to bang loudly so you can hear them all the way down the hall. the

Though choosing a hostel as a place to stay in Singapore is only an afterthought, it seems to me i made the perfect choice. Actually i really enjoyed staying in this hostel. No hassles and i was able to sleep well. My roommates who are of varied nationalities are all well-mannered and respect the privacy of the others. I would definitely return and stay there again when i had another chance to visit singapore in the future. For those who are travelling alone, i recommend Fragrance Hostel. V

The staff here is very friendly and accomodating. However, my door was stuck all the time and I had to hope someone else was inside. Also, the beds were very loud, I had a top bunk, and I could not get down without waking up the guy in the lower bunk.
All the people in my room were not backpackers but were trying to find a job in Singapore, so it was a different crowd than I normally met in hostels.
The bathrooms were clean though, which is always a plus.
