The Freeman Lodge has a warm and home-like feel that coincides with the 1970's architecture. Rooms can be loud at night as the single-pane windows do not block out much of the traffic noise. Backpackers looking for a wildly social atmosphere should steer clear of the Freeman as it is catered towards the laid-back traveler. Bob and Christy has been very helpful, kind and caring. The common areas, kitchen and bathrooms are cleaned and tidied daily. Felt just like home.
No noisy crowds/parties to disturb your slept but traffic can be quite heavy due to its central location. The tram station which is about 3-5 mins walk away is very convenient to access the city and the main attractions.

The room was noisy due to traffic outside
The staff were very friendly and helpful
There was not a lot of security in the rooms - no locks for the lockers
The showers were either freezing cold or too boiling hot
The people staying there were not overly friendly
The body is a wonderful creation.
You can by movemets and actions , Shut out noise, ask for locks.,adjust water temperatures and smile and speak to make friends.If you dont use those simple movements and actions then, you miss out on a life of enjoyments. Try it...It works.

our hosts, bob and christine, were very helpful and available. They had great suggestions for places to see and ways to get there. We felt the room was very private and our odd hours while recovering from jet lag were not a problem
