Freeman Lodge in Melbourne, Australia

Very clean and safe hostel... feels like a homestay. Bob and Christine were always very helpful. Location is a little far from the city, takes 20 mins by public transport (train or tram) cos it is on the outskirt of downtown. Always cosy and clean inside -- the pretty lounge and kitchen. breakfast was always available. but shower heads are difficult to use... no premix of hot and cold water. I loved staying here, it is extremely safe and cosy. Bob is great and is always there to help you out or answer any questions. Free bread and butter, tea and coffee every morning which is great and only 20 mins away from Federation Square. Would def stay here again. Tina, from England ~ 30th Sep 2009

This is the loveliest hostel I have stayed in. The owners are lovely and the etmosphere is very friendly. Beacsue it isn't a massive hostel it is much more personal than all the others I have used in Australia. I will definitely stay here again when back in Melbourne. good location, within walking distance to federation square. quite hard to find if arrive in middle of night. older furniture and things but very clean and towels and hairdryer all included. good for long/short stays Sara, from Scotland ~ 11th Sep 2009

Cozy little place not too far walk to the city centre (a really nice 20 min walk through the treasury gardens) and accessible by trams and trains. Owners were very helpful and eager to make us comfortable. The free skybus to the lodge was a great bonus Kathrene, from Australia ~ 4th Aug 2009
