After booked, the hostel manager informed me they moved to a new place, less close to MTR than original address.After arrival,we found that it is an aged&broken local residence,dim light,filthy corrdior.We phoned the manager,he told us to give the money to the guardian(very rude)at G/F,the guardian will pass us the room key, &drop the key in mailbox when leave.The "hostel" actually is one of the apartments in this local residence building.Nevertheless, room is clean & tidy. Awesome stay. Great privacy as it was more like an apartment instead of a regular hostel. Good security and great location as it is located just opposite Shilin night market. Definitely would return. Samantha, from Singapore ~ 7th May 2012

Don't expect a lot,people here don't mean the same thing as we do with the word Hostel and there is many of them(22 million)You often end up in a small room with some amenities-still in luxury-beside you it might be 5 people in the same size room. Otherwise Taipei was too chilly after Thailand, but nice market, food and cheap shopping andamazing collections of art,porcelain,jade in the National Museum.Don't miss that.Better map needed and the guy owning the place was only a mobilenumber.
