Location was excellent. Near the center of Gion district. The annex was non-smoking which is best for non-smokers as there is smoking at the main Gojo which filters up into the rooms. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Free internet use was great. No problem finding location with the map provided on their website.

the tripple room had paper windows which let in a draft and got cold at night, even with the heater on

Was only there for one night. Pretty good place, really really close to one of the most famous temples in Kyoto and Gion Corner, a 1500yen cab ride to imperial palace and 2000yen cab ride to Golden Pavilion (subway was easy too but we were in a hurry). Overall pretty awesome place! A big more lighting might have been better.

This was a really nice hostel, very clean and quiet. The free internet was a bonus, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It is difficult to find though, our taxi driver couldn't understand the map we printed out and had to phone the hostel to find it. Other than that it was a great place to stay.

I thought Gojo Guesthouse was really good value for money. I stayed in a single private room and made use of the free wireless internet access on my laptop for just over $100 AU for 3 nights. The best part about this place is the location though. It's right near Gion, the geisha district, so from about 4pm or 5pm onwards if you leave the room to go wandering around for something to eat you're pretty likely to see a geisha at some point.
