Green Kiwi Backpacker Hostel in Santiago, Singapur

I found this hostel a great starting point for my trip and had two metro stations very close by. I thought that most of the staff were friendly and helpful. I think it would have been nice if they had told me my mixed 10 bed room had 9 guys in it, then i would probably have upgraded to a better room, as the smell in that room was awful! Air fresheners would be a good idea, and better cleaning of the toilets would have been nice. Would i use this hostel again? Yes! Jennifer, from England ~ 13th Oct 2011

Great daily breakfast of fruits and toast, speedy free net and clean overall. Loved that there were plenty of showers so we never had to wait. A good experience, though the location was a bit harder to find the first time around than expected. Lavender Street from the MRT is actually about half a block away. When you come out of the subway head towards a building with a big statue of a Buddha on top. That's Lavender. Then walk left from there. Melissa, from Canada ~ 14th Oct 2011

The hostel is new, bed is wonderful, blanket is the best I've ever stayed, warm and comfort. Bathroom is good and green designed with the auto on-off switch. There is also a rooptop garden that might be used as a bar. Key and door code will be left for you if you check in after 10pm. free wifi and computers. Breakfast served with fruits The downside is the staffs is new, the reception close at 10pm, the toilet is not clean sometime, the breakfast must be served by staffs so sometimes is not that Nguyen, from Vietnam ~ 14th Sep 2011

The place is fairly new, so the amenities are still decent. Can improve a little on daily cleaning, when I got in the room, some rubbish was on the floor and floor was pretty dusty Love the rooftop garden, fast n reliable wifi, fruity breakfast and the friendly staff who always remembers your name. the place was easy enough to locate, it is a good 10-20min walk from 2 mrt stations and bus stops are just across the road. the management and staff are accomodating and polite, the rooms are fully airconditioned and the beds are comfortable. the bathrooms are regularly cleaned and generally well kept. breakfast is sufficient. we had a pleasant stay and will not hesitate to recommend the green kiwi hostel to other travellers.
