Staff is really kind and friendly. Just one night but it was nice stay. Location is also nice: just a few minutes walk to the main street and circulator. Very cool 1830 brownstone in walking distance of everything downtown, right across from the oldest cathedral in the US.Friendly, very clean, 4 common rooms to hang out in, reliable wifi, grocery and bars nearby, close to light rail stop, lots of extension cords for your electronics, lights at each bed, and a baby grand with lots of sheet music. This was my first hostel experience.I agree with the comments left on Hi-Baltimore guest book - it was a verynice experience - I felt lucky to have started with the one of the best hostels - other hostelers left such comments in the guest book - and they had been at many.I stayed for 6 nights and every staff person was gracious, kind and helpful.I plan on going back Erica, from USA ~ 11th Dec 2011

Great place to stay while in Baltimore. Excellent location for sure, free CCC bus with lines going each way just 1-2 block walk. There is parking in the back of the building for a good price. Very close to Inner Harbor. A pool table in the huge room with nothing but couches and chairs would be nice, i was stayed at the hostel for two weeks and hardly anyone was ever in there except maybe a few people waiting on check-in. ALL staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel was quiet so the fun bit and any hostel intiated activities were...should I say 'subdued'. Apart from that it is a great place to stay while in Baltimore. Philip, from Australia ~ 12th Nov 2011
