The hostel is at a great location, being just 5 minutes from the city center. The building is quite run-down, but it's clean. The staff was friendly and nice. There are several common areas with sofas, which is great if you want to stay in for a bit. Toast and coffee and tea were available all day. The hostel is next to a main street and many people (at least from my room) do go out in the evening and come back in the middle of the night. But bring a pair of earplugs and everything is good! The hostel is conveniently located just about 10 minutes walk from the coach station. I stayed in a 8 people mixed room. The beds and beddings are in excellent condition. The rooms are quiet and so you can enjoy a decent night's sleep. If you have issues with bright light while sleeping, that can be a bother when someone walks into the room flicks the switch on as all the lights in the room go on and they are very bright. The lift didn't work, which was the same when I stayed at Hatters two years ago. Also, it was extremly cool up at the fifth floor, especially when you had to go to the toilets. You almost needed you jacket, to go to for a piss. Niels, from Denmark ~ 15th Feb 2012

The staff asked me to pay full price GBP20 for us two without consideration of my pre-paid deposit (10%) in this website. And I did not realised it until I left Manchester. I did tell her that I booked this hostel online. What the hell. The bathroom is doggy. You got only one press botton to get water.
