DO NOT STAY HERE! This turned out to be a very dangerous part of Panama City. At some point a guard had to accompany us to hail a cab. We spent a lot of money on cabs. If you intend on seeing the canal this hostel is really far from it. And there is nothing to do in the actual hostel. Check in is at 12pm, which can be very inconvenient. This place had some serious problems with water - there wasn't any!! I booked and paid for a room with private bath and hot water - my shower had no water never mind the hot part. I complained and they said use the other bathroom...the water was but a trickle unless you waited hours after everyone else showered and flushed. There was one staff member who was friendly and helpful his name is Rapheal or something like that. I would not recommend this hostel but then again - there is only one o rena, from Canada ~ 27th Feb 2009

The place is old and Ricardo is fixing it up. He is very friendly and helpful. He kept my things safe when I traveled out of town for a few days. It was clean and minimal. I will return! cheryl, from USA ~ 14th Jan 2009

A great place in a great neighborhood. Staff was friendly but no one spoke English, though they are very helpful if you can communicate in some Spanish. Accomodations were very basic but hey it's a hostel. Would definitely stay here again. James, from USA ~ 30th Dec 2008
