And old and simpel hostel. Perfect location, and nice and clean, though everything was very old. Wish there was a Tea - kitchen.... Nice and helpful staff, loved the nice back yard. Will definatly be back ! ole, from Denmark ~ 22nd May 2012

I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. We were there in the middle of September and our room was full of bugs! They are not there when you enter the room, but in the night the night, they crawl out.. We had bug bites all over our bodies after sleeping there the first night. Although the receptionist guy was friendly without speaking a word in English, however the owner of the hostel was very rude and didn't want to refund our money even after showing him the bug bites all over our body.
We are very sorry about your problem, aass we told you at the time. We are as tourist HOSTEL and we do get many clients who have been camping in the country, and then want a bed for the night. It is possible they bring in these bugs. As soon as we new about this problem we did close this room and two ajecent rooms. Hostel Nilo is very clean , all rooms are clean every day and we have many repeat clients who would agree with this. Even 4 /5 star hotels have these problems at times.

It didn't impress me at all. I have stayed in much better hostels for better price. Pros: good location (almost in downtown, close to central street, I could see sea from the room, but it took ~20 mins to get to the beach). This was the only pros I guess. Cons: wasn't too clean, didn't feel secured... Just simple room that was in an old building and didn't see any reconstruction for many years. The bed was really old and uncomfortable.
You chose a one star guesthouse not a four star Hotel, we are very sorry that it took you so long to walk to the beach. Sorry most buildings in Barrio Gothic are old, it is what the name of the area means. Our rooms are clean very day and so is the whole hostel, Reconstruction ?. very difficult in a protected area.
