Hostel Die Etage in Berlin, Germany

Positive: Free WiFi, huge dining/common area, only one flight of stairs, very quiet neighborhood, two big supermarkets within steps of the hostel. Negative: far from downtown Berlin but conveniently near S-bahn station. No stove, only microwave. Peter, from USA ~ 16th Nov 2009

Die Etage is just the best hostel I've been in Berlin. I'll have a good memory of it. First, i was really wellcome from the staff, not like other Hostels where they just tell you "ok here's your sheets, you must check out at this time, bye". nice rooms, nice toilettes, great showers, you have two supermarket in 50 mt..and it costed less then the half the price of any other hostel.. greet the staff Filippo

Big hostel with heaps of room, alittle too far from the city center but U-bahn just around the corner. Staff were helpful and everything was cleaned every day, would come back again

Clean, well run. Lounge/ kitchen. Free internet access in lobby. Computer in lobby. Parking outside. Lockers in room. 10 min walk from metro. 30 min (metro) to downtown. 45 min to clubbing district. Lucas, from Canada ~ 10th Sep 2009

It is pretty far from all teh major attractions but if you rent a bike (which you can do for very cheap through the hostel) you can have a GREAT experience biking the city. The staff here is VERY friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is nice with a chance to hang out a meet people in the lounge. The lounge is a little messy, but mainly due to the constant traffic. The rooms however I felt were kept pretty clean.
